[FWM News] Summer Meeting

[Far West Masters news]

Just another reminder, our Far West Masters summer board meeting will be held this Saturday (7/13/13) at our house, 450 Forest Glen Road, Olympic Valley CA 96146. 

We will have a bike ride beginning at 9:00 AM leaving from our house. The ride will follow a bike trail, (mostly) for approximately 10 miles. At the 10 mile point, we will turn up the Barker Pass/Kaspian road. The first 2.5 miles is a very easy gentle climb. When we come to the bridge, the climb pitches up and averages about 7% with some 9-11% grades. This steeper part of the climb is 4.5 miles in length. The total ride distance is 34 miles.

Of course one is not required to ride the whole route. Much of the ride is along the Truckee River, and Lake Tahoe, so a more scenic leisurely pace may be to some folks liking. Of course for others, there will be KOM and QOM points, as well as an overall winner in the men's and women's categories. Who knows, maybe we'll even have trophies for the various winners.

The actual meeting will begin at 2:00 PM, and will be followed by a barbecue at approximately 4:30 PM.

Please respond if you are coming to the ride and or meeting as I need to know how much food and drink to purchase.
