[Far West Masters news]

Congratulations to this year's Bernard Cup Winners, Deb Lewis and Kurt Belden.

We had a beautiful day Saturday with two challenging slalom runs on Mott's at Squaw Valley.  The hill was interesting with variable terrain and course sets that took maximum advantage of the hill.  Fastest lady in both races was first time racer Lindsay Barnhart, fastest man Ara Papazian.  Great party thanks in large part to Brian Smith's contribution of BBQ from Kinders in Reno, a source of tasty meets and great BBQ sauces.

Sunday came back to remind us all that ski racing is a winter sport.  We lost the day due to wind closures of the Siberia lift.  So it goes.

Next event is Mt. Rose, March 7 and 8 with GS both days.  All reports are that Mt. Rose has good snow and good racing conditions.
