With a strong storm moving into the Sierra tonight and into tomorrow,
with possibility of a foot or more of new snow on top of a warm soft
snowpack, the Mammoth Race Department is monitoring the evolving
weather conditions to assess the outlook for the scheduled Tue/Wed DH
training and races.

After consultations this afternoon with Far West Masters officers, the
plan is to evaluate the conditions in the morning and make a decision
by 8AM on whether the races can be held. As always with a speed event,
safety will be the primary consideration.

We don't want to cancel prematurely, but if safe racing conditions will
not be possible we'll make that determination early in the morning so
we can get the word out to people with travel plans.

Attempts will be made to contact registered competitors this evening by
email and phone. Tomorrow morning's decision will be broadcast by
email and posted on the web site as soon as possible.
