For those of you who weren't at the Mammoth races last weekend and were
given your new bibs on-site, all remaining membership packages for new
and renewing members were sent out this week by membership VP Marcie
Pettigrew, so you should be receiving any day now. If you haven't
renewed yet, please get your membership form and dues in to Marcie so
she can update your records and get you your new bib for this season.

With everyone getting new bibs this season (thanks to our new bib
sponsors: Reno Mountain Sports, Lausmann Lumber, and Skier's Edge),
race day checkin is particularly important so we can ensure all
competitors are correctly entered on the start list and wearing the
correct bib. You always need to check in each day, as there may be
announcements about the day's schedule that competitors need to be
aware of.

Don't forget the pre-holiday SL / SL race weekend coming up a week from
now on Dec. 18-19 at Squaw Valley. Take advantage of our new online
race registration at http://SkiRaceReg.com - it makes race entries much
easier!! Contact raceadmin at farwestmasters.org if you have questions or
need assistance in activating your account.

Membership Packages
-------------------

REMINDER: WE HAVE NEW BIBS THIS YEAR!

We have new sponsors this year and our bib colors and design have
changed. Some of you will retain your old number, while others will be
getting new numbers. Just a reminder, the old bibs will no longer be
accepted for races. (You do not have to return your old bib, but it can
no longer be used.) If you have not renewed your membership, you will
be assigned a temporary bib for the next race you enter.

To all who have sent in their membership renewals and did not pick up
their bib last weekend at the Mammmoth opening weekend races,
membership VP Marcie Pettigrew mailed your membership package this week
to your address on record per your membership application. Please be on
the look out for your packet, if you have any questions contact Marcie
at membership at farwestmasters.org.

Race Day Checkin Reminder
-------------------------

Just a reminder: yes, you DO need to check in at registration on race
day!!! Even if you are at your home area and don't need to purchase a
racer lift ticket, you need to check in to verify that you are
correctly entered on the start list and to find out about any
adjustments in the planned race day schedule. It's your responsibility
as a competitor to check the schedule and announcements, as the race
organizer and jury may need to adjust the day's plans for weather or
other unexpected conditions.

With everyone getting new bibs this season, it's important to verify
that the your bib number on the start list corresponds with the bib you
have. (If you still haven't renewed your membership, do it BEFORE race
day, otherwise we can't have your new bib available for you and you
will need to race wearing the temporary bib number that is assigned
when the entry list is prepared the day before the race.) When a racer
arrives at the starting gate with the wrong bib, it makes it more
difficult for the race crew to run the race and ensure accurate times
for all competitors. Help them do their job by doing your part - be on
time for your start and ensure you are wearing the correct bib.
