> Before you delete this email, open your mind and think about this:  This is your only opportunity to try a Masters friendly downhill and prepare for the Nationals downhill at Big Sky this winter.

> Soldier Mountain Ski Area has new ownership.  It has received all the necessary permits and has opened for the season with a great base and lots of snow on top. They have upgraded the lifts, added a magic carpet, updated the outside restrooms, and spruced up the whole area. This is all in addition to the new lodge that was added last year.   The new management is looking forward to our Soldier Mountain Downhill race and have been making plans so it is a top notch event.

> The dates have been moved up a day (from earlier announced date) so training day - Mandatory, will be Monday, February 11 and Race day will be Tuesday, February 12.  The tentative schedule for now is listed below in this email. We will update you with any further changes as they become available.
> 
> While our production costs have gone up drastically, we will keep your cost the same as in the past.  In order to do this we encourage you to bring a couple friendsto race so we can meet expenses. Registration is via www.skiracereg.com as usual.  The locals downhill race, Sammis Camas, will have online registration this year as well. Masters are welcome to race in this event but there will be no class awards, only Overall Winner, Second and third.

> Area Lodging is listed below. Make your reservations now as they are limited and fill up fast. While the Prairie Inn is the closest to the ski hill, it is small and fills up very fast. Recommended is the Soldier Mountain Ranch that has condos that are very economical when shared.  It is 6 miles West from Fairfield in the opposite direction from the ski hill.  Go to the website listed below to obtain information.
